A charming and finely-modelled Copeland Parian figure of Purity by the English sculptor Matthew Noble for the Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union. She holds a lily in her right hand and supports herself on a garlanded stump with the left. Noble also made a bust of Purity for Copeland. The figure is marked M Noble Copyright reserved Copeland, Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union, with a manufacturing date mark for May 1877. Height 43cm (17”).

Condition: This figure is in very good condition with a small nick on the base and a firing line on the arm.
