A Copeland Parian figure of The Flute Player from Monti 1870, marked Copeland Copyright Reserved, Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union. Height 35cm (13¾” ).

This charming figure of a shepherd boy playing his flute is illustrated in the “Parian Phenomenon” page 157 fig 526A and in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian - Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” page 143 fig S59. The sculptor Monti is perhaps best known to Parian collectors for his bust of the veiled bride.

Condition  No visible damage or restoration - appearance is excellent. However, with this figure there is almost always damage and restoration to the flute and the hands. Please look at our photos. If there is any restoration it has been done to an extremely high professional standard.
