A fine Copeland Parian figure of a lady at her toilet, after Marshall 1861.

The figure shows a beautiful young woman in classical dress looking into her mirror while fixing her hair. She sits on a grand throne-like stool. The Parian has delicate tinted and gilded highlights with additional colouring in blue and apricot. The figure is clearly marked with Crystal Palace Art Union.

Height 38cm (15”); Width 28cm (11”); Depth 16½cm (6½“)

Condition: Very good. The mirror has been professionally restored otherwise the figure has no faults. The figure (The Toilet) is shown in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian, Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” page 185 lacking a mirror. The text indicates that the mirror was an optional extra feature.
