A good Parian bust of Arthur Wellesley, later Duke of Wellington (1769 – 1852) by an unknown manufacturer, possibly T&R Boote. Height 29cm (11½”)
This rare model is dated November 1852 and would have been issued to commemorate his death in September 1852. The bust is attached to the separate socle with a bolt.
This bust is illustrated in the “Parian Phenomenon” page 258 figure 901 which suggests the attribution to Boote.
Condition: This bust is in excellent condition. There is a rattle which is from a loose piece of porcelain inside the bust from the manufacturing process.
