A good quality Parian handled jug of classically-influenced form with applied enamel and gilt decoration, dating from the second half of the Nineteenth Century. The body is decorated with blue enamel and gilt stars and the gadrooning around the neck and base has been outlined with pale mauve enamel. A subtle and decorative effect. The base rim is marked with '567' and a number of other manufacturer's marks and cyphers which we have been unable to identify. Probably Minton as identical in form and size to our plain example marked Minton (Code: 220806).
Height 16.5 cm (6.5").
Condition: this jug is in very good undamaged condition apart from two tiny nicks on the body (see picture with handle on left side).
