We are offering a small collection of nicely detailed Robinson & Leadbeater Parian busts of military figures from the late Victorian period, each around 20cm / 8” high:

300304: Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener [SOLD]

Senior British Army officer and colonial administrator. Kitchener came to prominence for his imperial campaigns, his involvement in the Second Boer War, and his central role in the early part of the First World War.

Condition: Faint yellowish staining at the back of the bust, and a firing crack to the back of the base.


300303: General Sir Redvers Henry Buller, VC  [SOLD]

Sculpted by W C Lawton, inscribed to the reverse ‘Copyright Oct 30th 1899’

Buller served as Commander-in-Chief of British Forces in South Africa during the early months of the Second Boer War and subsequently commanded the army in Natal until his return to England in November 1900.

Condition: Good condition.


300302: Field Marshal Frederick Sleigh Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, VC [SOLD]

Sculpted by W C Lawton, inscribed to the reverse ‘Copyright Jan 1900’

General who became one of the most successful British military commanders of his time.  Roberts would go on to serve as the Commander-in-Chief, India before leading British Forces for a year during the Second Boer War. He also became the last Commander-in-Chief of the Forces before the post was abolished in 1904.

Condition: Good condition.


300301: Field Marshal Sir George Stuart White, VC  [SOLD]

Sculpted by W C Lawton, inscribed to the reverse ‘Copyright Feb 24th 1900’

commander of the forces in Natal at the opening of the Second Boer War and fought at the Battle of Elandslaagte in October 1899. He commanded the garrison at the siege of Ladysmith.

Condition: Good condition.
