A Parian bust of Wellington by John Rose (Coalport)

A good quality bust of the Duke of Wellington by John Rose & Co (later Coalport China) from the sculptor Joseph Pitts, circa 1852. The back of the bust is marked 'JOSH PITTS SC. LONDON 1852'. The bust is fused to the socle. Although not marked with a maker's name, this bust is illustrated as having been made by John Rose and company in The Parian Phenomenon.

Height 23cm (9¼ ").

Condition: Excellent. There is a rattle from a loose piece of porcelain inside.
