An attractive Parian group of a mother and child made for the Art Union of Great Britain dating from the last quarter of the 19th century.
This charming figure shows the woman standing with two water buckets or milk churns by a stream, her hands in her pockets, the child climbing on her back.
The figure is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon, page 253 fig 869 as “Market Girl” circa 1870.

This figure has some firing cracks to the base but is otherwise in excellent condition.
