A Parian figure of the Dancing Girl from Canova
A fine, large figure of the Dancing Girl based on the marble originals (1805 – 1812) by Canova. Unmarked and dating to the second half of the 19th Century.
This figure was produced by a number of manufacturers – this one is possibly by Robinson and Leadbeater as illustrated in the 1898 R&L manufacturer’s list of models page 57 item 49.
Height: 44cm (17¼”)
Small nick and rough edge to lower side edge of garment (her right side). Slight, faint kiln dusting at rear of base. Otherwise perfect.
