A pair of Copeland Parian busts of the younger Queen Victoria and her consort Prince Albert after originals by Theed in 1864. Both busts are marked Pub Aug 21 1864 Crystal Palace Art Union.  Victoria wears a fine wreath of acorns and oak leaves. Albert, who died in 1861, wears a toga.

These busts are illustrated in The Parian Phenomenon page 182 fig 596 and in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian - Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” page 234 fig R3 (Albert) and page 243/244 fig R24 and page 55 colour plate 48 (Victoria).

Heights: both 32cm (12½“)

Condition Victoria is in excellent condition with a few tiny frits round the base. Albert is in very good condition with two small nicks on the (blank) name plate.
