A Worcester parian ware vase in the form of a hand holding a grecian urn, dated 1865. The vase is dlicately decorated with a gilt band around the rim, and a black Vitruvian wave scrolling geometric pattern around the widest part of the urn. Where the hand joins the base (which is modelled as a sleeve) there is a gilt and enamelled 'bracelet' band of decoration. The inside of the vase is glazed. Height 14.8cm (5.8")
The vase is well-marked to the base with a registration diamond for 1864, and a green printed Worcester mark for 1865.
Condition. This vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restroration. There is a small amount of light wear to the gilt band at the rim. Please see the images.
