A Worcester Parian bust from the Kerr & Binns period (1852 - 1862) of Major General Henry Havelock (1795 –1857) dated c. 1858, from the Irish sculptor and designer W B Kirk. Havelock originally intended to become a lawyer, but instead joined the army, rising to Major General and serving with distinction in India, Persia and Afghanistan.  He died in India in 1857 of dysentery.

The socle has the Kerr and Binns printed mark underneath. Worcester began making Parian in 1853.

The socle is attached to the bust with slip in the Worcester manner. The bust is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon on page 203, fig 674.

Height: 22cm (8.7”).
