An elegant Parian figure of the 'companion of Phryne' standing holding a vase in one arm.  The figure has gilt and tourquoise enamel highlighting. This figure is unmarked and is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon together with the figure of Phryne was modelled by J J Pradier, and based on a marble shown at the Paris Salon of 1845. This figure of the companion dates from around 1860. The gilding and enamelling are reminiscent of Worcester.  Height 36 cm (14.1").

 

Condition. This figure is in excellent condition with no chips or restoration. There are minor losses to the gilding and enamelling around the edge of the clothing. Please see images.
