Worcester parian bust of War

A good parian bust of War by Worcester, dating from around 1860, fixed to a separate socle which in places has remains of the plaster fixing and at the back has had glue added for strength. Unmarked. Height 33.7 cm (13.2")

This bust is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon in figure 668 where it is stated that the bust was made by J. Stephan for James Lane. A handsome bust.
