A parian ware handled mug with deeply moulded decoration of Bacchus and revellers by Charles Meigh.  The inside of the mug is glazed. The firm of Charles Meigh made a range of table wares in this bacchanalian dance design (for which they won awards) in both a stoneware body and parian ware. The design is taken from a painting by Nicholas Poussin. Height 9.7 cm (3.8")

Condition. This mug is in excellent undamaged condition.
