Copeland Parian group 'La Chasse au Lapin'

A Copeland Parian figure group of terriers on an oval plinth, after a wax model by the French animalier sculptor P J Mene of 'La Chasse au Lapin', later cast in bronze and shown at the Paris Salon in 1872.  An intricate and fine quality group with superb attention to detail.  c 1860 - 1880.  Length of base 33cm (13").  Marked 'COPELAND' to the back of the base.

Condition: this figure group is in excellent condition.  There is a small nick to the tip of the right ear of the dog with the longer coat clambering over the dog in front, and a firing crack (not a break) to the rear right leg of the lower dog.  Please see our photographs.
