A Parian figure of Cupid Betrayed dating from around 1860. This beautiful figure shows Venus stealing Cupid’s arrows while giving him a drink.
This figure is unmarked. It is illustrated in the Parian Phenomenon p 252, Fig 862.
Height 42cm (16½”)
Condition: this figure is in excellent condition. There are some faint firing lines round the left shoulder, elbow and above the child’s head and a few spots of kiln dust round the vines and flowers on the base.
