The Parian Phenomenon, A Survey of Victorian Porcelain Statuary and Busts, Edited by Paul Atterbury.  1st Edition 1989, Published by Richard Dennis.  Hardback book in illustrated dust jacket.   268 pages, profusely illustrated with black and white photographs of Parian figures and busts and with 2 colour plates showing multiple items.

The book begins with a series of chapters on the history of Parian wares and the people who sculpted and manufactured them.  The main part of the book is an illustrated review of the Parian wares priduced by Minton, Copeland, Wedgwood, Worcester and Robinson and Leadbeater together with a section of Parian items not identified by manufacturer.

We cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone with an interest in Parian wares.  The book is now out of print, and we were pleased recently to be able to buy the remaining small stock held by the publisher.  We can offer three grades of copies: as new and unread, in near fine second hand condition, and in good condition with more evidence of handling and use:

As new: £120
Near fine second hand condition: £90 [1 remaining at this price]
Good second hand condition: £60 [not available]

Please note that our photographs of the front cover and the sample page show a faint pattern in the photographs which is an artifice introduced by the digital camera, and is not present in the book itself.
