A good Parian bust of Beethoven

A good Parian bust of the composer Beethoven, probably by Robinson and Leadbeater. This a striking portrait of the scowling composer with his wavy hair and lacy cravat.

This bust has a separate socle. It is illustrated on page 125½ in the R&L catalogue of shapes and also matches the small R&L version shown in the Parian Phenomenon page 231 fig 756, but it is unmarked.

Height 29cm (11.4”)

Condition

There is a small chip to the corner of the left and right jacket collar and a flake off the right sleeve. A few kiln marks and minor firing faults.
