A Copeland Parian figure of “Go to Sleep” for the Art Union of London from the 1862 marble sculpture by Durham and depicting a charming scene of a young girl with her dog. This model is dated June 1877 and marked Copeland Copyright Reserved. Height 45cm (17¾“)
The figure is illustrated in the “Parian Phenomenon” page 142 figure 495 and in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian - Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” page 105, fig GP30.
Condition Excellent – there are some firing lines round the dog’s hind leg and the front leg.
