An uncommon Copeland Parian figure of “The Pets” or “Girl with Rabbit”, from Miller, 1873 for the Ceramic and Crystal Palace Art Union, marked Copeland Copyright Reserved. Height 41cm (16”).

“Pets” refers to both the girl and the rabbit – the rabbit is very realistically modelled and the child and the animal make a very attractive pair.

The figure is illustrated in the “Parian Phenomenon” page 145 figure 502 and in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian - Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” page 104/5, fig GP29.
