A large Parian figure of the Trysting Tree by Copeland, dated May 1876, showing the young man after he has placed his love letter in the tree stump, his sickle on the ground.

Marked G Halse Sc, Pub 1874, Copyright Reserved Copeland Y 76.  A companion figure of a girl was also made. Height 55cm (21.7”)

This figure is illustrated in The Parian Phenomenon page 161 fig 537 and in Robert Copeland’s book “Parian - Copeland’s Statuary Porcelain” pages 186 fig S177.

Condition  This figure is in excellent condition with just a tiny nick to the back bottom edge of his jacket.
