A large Parian bust of Benjamin Disraeli by Adams from E W Wyon.  The bust, attached to its socle by a bolt, is marked 'Adams & Co, Wyon. Pub by John Stark Etruria Reg April 21 1868'

Benjamin Disraeli (1804 – 1881), later 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, was a Tory (later Conservative) politician who served twice as Prime Minister of Great Britain and as Leader of the Opposition during the Whig (Liberal) Governments. Earlier roles in government included Chancellor of the Exchequer and Leader of the House of Commons.

Disraeli was a favourite of Queen Victoria.  In parallel with his political career, he wrote and published novels throughout his life as well as some poetry and works of non-fiction.
